Head and Shoulders, Blue and Orange
The last time I painted Margaret, I softened the edges and muted the colors. This time, I charged headlong in the opposite direction.
This one is an experiment in complementary colors. An invisible line, drawn from the upper left to the lower right, roughly divides the composition in half, with the warm colors (oranges and reds) mostly above the line, and the cool colors (blues and purples) mostly below it.
The roughness of the style is such that, somewhere along the way, the likeness was lost. So if you pass this lady on the street, don’t say Hi, Margaret! because it isn’t Margaret.
